Install the space bar by holding it on the left and sliding it into the punching channel

Use any of your wire templates to push the space bar all the way down into the punching channel. Helpful Hint: *Be sure to push the space bar down all the way as shown in picture below to prevent it from getting in the way of your punching.

This information is also available in PDF form with pictures.

General Tips

Cover-All sets come with the chipboard cover, and an inserted frosted plastic page mounting sheet.

The proper setting to punch the mounting sheet on the BIA should be “C” for Covers. This will provide
perfect centering of punched holes.

Depending on the size Cover-All being utilized, be sure to follow the steps in the instruction manual that
came with the Bind-it-All V2.0, pages 11 thru 17.

You may download binding instructions at www.Binditall.com. Click on the “Help” icon. Then select
“Binding Help”.

Select the proper size inner pages for your Cover-all projects

The size of the inner pages used in the Cover-All is the same as the size of the cover itself. Therefore, a
6” x 6” Cover-All will require 6” x 6” inner pages.

For best results punch inner pages for use in Cover-Alls on the “C” for Covers punch setting. This is
unlike the setting for mini books where inner pages are punched on “D” for Inner Pages.

Selecting the proper Owire diameters for your Cover-all projects

All Zutter Cover-Alls designate the recommended Owire size that will best fit inside that cover. This
information is noted on the front of the Cover-Alls package.

With the exception of the 3” x 4” Cover-Alls (which accommodate ½” Owire) all Cover-Alls are made
for either ¾” or 1” Owire sizes.

In most instances, and depending on the thickness of inner pages, smaller Owires can be interchangeable
among the Cover-Alls, regardless of the recommendation on the Cover-Alls packages. In other words,
Cover-Alls designated for 1” Owires will work well with any of the smaller diameter size Owires.
Cover-alls designated for ¾” Owires will work well with ½” and in some cases the larger 1”. A little bit
of trial and error will allow you to master this process, should you not have the proper Owire size
available at the time of binding the project.

Proper steps to make pages for Cover-Alls

Remove the plastic frosted sheet that is included in the Cover-alls. With the BIA set on “C” for covers,
punch the necessary holes onto the frosted plastic mounting sheet. (For proper centering and balancing
of punched holes be sure to follow punching guide instructions in the BIA V2.0 instruction manual
pages 11 thru 17). You may download binding instructions at www.Binditall.com. Click on
the “Help” icon. Then select “Binding Help”.

Select inner pages to be used. If using standard inner page sizes (in ½” increments) punch the inner
pages utilizing the “C” setting for covers. (For proper centering and balancing of punched holes be sure
to follow punching guide instructions in the BIAV2.0 instruction manual pages 11 thru 17). Again,
you may download binding instructions at www.Binditall.com. Click on the “Help” icon. Then select
“Binding Help”.

Once the necessary holes have been punched on the inner pages as well as on the frosted plastic
mounting sheet it is now time to insert the Owire to bind everything together. (F1). Note that the inner
pages should be ordered on the bottom, and the frosted sheet on top; the Owire is ready to be placed into
the pre-punched holes. (F2)

The Owire has been inserted thru the punched holes. (F3 and F4) The loops of the Owire have first gone
thru the plastic frosted mounting sheet and then thru the inner pages.

It’s now time to bind! (F5). Note that the small loops of the Owire are facing the Zutter logo on the
BIA. Use the Owire measuring templates to ensure proper adjustment of the closing channel. Gently
squeeze the handle to close the binding channel. (F6). Continue binding Owire segments until the full
length of Owire is completed.

NOTE: In order for the Owire to fit properly within the Cover-All, bind the Owire so that the seam of
the Owire falls on the inside back cover of the inner pages and frosted plastic sheet. Reference the
instruction manual for details.

If binding blank note pages in the Cover-All, (F7) allow the frosted mounting page to drop vertically
(F8) and flip it over to the right side of the back page (F9). Note that the frosted plastic mounting sheet
has been flipped over to the right side. You will also note that the binding seam appears on the inside
back.

Insert the plastic binding sheet into the pocket of the Cover-All. (F10, F11, F12)

A dull, flat tool can help to insert the plastic sheet into the pocket, should it be difficult to insert fully.
(F13)

The pages are now properly inserted /secured into your Cover-all. (F14, F15, F16, F17)

Take your wire-bound projects to a whole new level with Cover-Alls – the unique cover system that hides the wire binding of your custom bound projects. Simply bind your inner pages to a plastic page mounting sheet (included with each set of Cover-Alls), and insert sheet into the back pocket of the cover. You can alter, paint, distress, or decorate the Cover-All any way you want. Get fancy or leave it simple. Either way, Cover-Alls look great and offer endless possibilities.

Cover-Alls comes in three spine styles: Flat, Curved and the decorative Bamboo Spine.

Sizes range from 3X4” for the miniest of mini books to 8X8” for professional, clean looking photo albums and decorative projects. Spine widths vary from ½” to 1” to provide flexibility and versatility in creating any project. Colors are white and craft. Each pack comes with the Cover-All and the plastic insert sheet.

And….the answer is…. it should be coming to a local scrapbook store near you soon! Check with your LSS and see if they have an order placed with Zutter Innovative. We had a great response at the Summer CHA show last month in Chicago – those store orders are going out later this month! If they haven’t placed an order yet, know that orders will be shipped out in the order received….so, the sooner the better!

In the meantime, enjoy this video overview of the enhancements of the BIA V2.0, and stay tuned for some exciting info soon!

If your Round-it-All is stuck in the pressed down position:

(See the original page that includes pictures.)

Would be to simply hit your Round-it-All against a soft edge such as shown on picture “A” where you see a plastic trash can. You can hit the Round-it-All a few times against the soft edge. This may very well cause it to release. If this step does not work proceed with the following.

As shown, take a small screwdriver and carefully remove the bottom waste compartment cover.

Note as the picture shows the Round-it- All with the waste compartment removed.

As shown, take a small screwdriver and place it onto the center part of the cutting blade by pushing it inward. This will most likely make the blade pop back into its proper and open position.

Very similar to picture 3, place a small screwdriver onto the middle of the cutting blade. Pushing the screwdriver down will force it to pop back up into its open and proper position.

Replacing your waste compartment lid

With some minor pressure, the waste compartment lid will go back into place.

If your Round-it-All isn’t cutting cleanly…

Please note that the Round-it-All is mainly designed for thick materials. If you are going to use it with thin paper, it is recommended that you punch a thick group of them at a time.

When using photographs: photography paper contains a glossy layer of thin plastic. It is recommended that if using photographs, you round off a group of photos at the same time, facing up and adding a sheet of cardstock at the top of the stack.

Cleaning your Round-it-All…

Recommendation: Take a lunch bag and fold it several times (to acquire many corners) repeatedly rounding off corners in an effort to clean out the first bit of grease that may be on the machine from the manufacturing process. This is important to avoid any kind of grease marks on any of your projects.

DreamKuts will NOT cut chipboard – in either cutting slot!

In fact, attempting to cut chipboard will cause severe damage to your unit by separating the cutting blades from their proper positions. This will force the blades to “score” rather than cut.

The two paper guides on the front cutting slot are anchored permanently and are not meant to move. These guides ensure three even strips cut at 4” wide. This front slot is for 12” wide paper only.

On the back slot, the paper guide adjustments on both sides are self-centering and are to be adjusted by using both hands at once, one on each side to properly engage the self-centering gears.

The decorations that appear to be turning wheels on both sides at the back of the machine are not intended to move

Picture #1 – Start by lifting the rear blade channel cover. (Bring your self-centering guides to the 4” marks). Use a soft sharp tool.

Picture #2 – Continue to snap out blade cover.

Picture #3 – Continue to snap out blade cover. (With your tool, push back enough to clear the internal plastic tab).

Picture #4 – Remove blade cover entirely.

Picture #5 – You must first make sure that you are viewing the machine from the proper angle. The Zutter logo must be facing you and the turning handle must be on the right hand side of the machine. The object is to push blade A to the left forcing it to jump blade B so that it stays on the left side of blade B (once blade A jumps over blade B it will stay in place).

Picture #6 – Important point on this picture is where to place the screwdriver when pushing blade A. Once you place your screwdriver in the proper location you will note that by pushing the blade with the screwdriver to the left, the spring contracting and retracting, you are doing everything correctly. Continue to push with the screwdriver vigorously until you force blade A to jump over blade B.

Picture #7 – Your end result when you have done it correctly. You will note that blade A is now resting on the left side of blade B.

Picture #8 – If you find that you are not able to push blade A to the left side of blade B, we suggest inserting the handle part of a wooden spoon. This will help you to have leverage in pushing the rod that holds blade B slightly forward a tiny bit to allow blade A to jump over to the left side of blade B.

Picture #9 – Again please note that the object is to push blade A to the left of blade B.

Picture #10 – With your left hand resting on the body of the machine, bring your wooden spoon forward (torque the two rods apart a tiny bit). With your right hand having the screwdriver in the exact blade A point, you can easily push blade A over to the left of blade B.

Picture #11 – A top view of your left hand bringing the wooden spoon forward while your right hand pushes blade A to the left. Always be sure that you are facing the machine properly. You are facing the Zutter logo. The turn handle is on the right hand side.

Picture #12 – Proceed by replacing blade cover.

Picture #15 – With a soft tool, work the blade cover tab to fit back in place. You are now finished. Please note that the only way that the DreamKuts blades will snap out of position is if it is misused by attempting to cut chipboard or multiple cardstock sheets of paper.

DreamKuts is designed to give you a trouble free lifetime of cutting capability (with self sharpening blades) provided that the machine is used according to its design. (Remember 1 sheet of cardstock at a time, never attempt to cut chipboard, maximum cutting capability is 180 lb weight cardstock).

February 2007 – If you have attempted to cut chipboard with the DreamKuts and your machine no longer cuts paper, see the easy fix instructions: Fixing Your DreamKuts After Chipboard!

In the meantime, here is a review of what the DreamKuts IS designed to do.

The DreamKuts has a total of three self-sharpening rotary blades that never need to be replaced. The machine has two cutting slots, one in the back of the machine and one in the front. Place the paper or cardstock into the slot of your choice and turn the crank to smoothly and quickly precision-cut your paper. It is hand-operated, so no cords get in the way.

The Front Slot: Fixed 12” Width

The front slot cuts 12” wide paper or cardstock into three 4” sections. The black tabs on the ends of this slot DO NOT move. They simply guide the paper. For nine 4” x 4” squares, run your 12” x 12” paper or cardstock through the slot once, and then turn the three pieces horizontally and feed them through again. As long as your paper is 12” wide, it will cut any length into perfect thirds.

The Back Slot: Adjustable 2” to 12”

The back slot is adjustable and cuts paper or cardstock from 2” to 12” wide exactly in half. Just move the black tabs – using both hands at once – until the paper is centered. For four 6” x 6” squares, run your 12” x 12” piece of paper or cardstock through the back slot once, and then turn the two pieces horizontally and feed them through the back slot again. For six 4” x 6” rectangles, run your 12” x 12” paper or cardstock though the back slot for a center cut, and then turn the three pieces horizontally and feed them through the front slot for the 1/3 cuts. You can continue to make center cuts down to 2” wide. Between the front and back slot you can make an endless variety of precision-cut sizes.

What are those Dials on the Back for?

Nothing! The two dial-like wheels on the back of the DreamKuts DO NOT move. They are simply there for aesthetic appeal and are not meant to move.

How Many Sheets Can I Cut at Once?

Do not cut more than one piece of cardstock at a time. Thin paper, such as most patterned papers, can be cut two pieces at a time. DreamKuts is not designed to cut chipboard. To cut chipboard, we suggest the Fiskars rotary paper trimming system.

About the Blades

The blades of the DreamKuts are self-sharpening and will not need replacing – ever – with proper use. Your fingers will never come in contact with the blades under normal circumstances – so no nicks or cuts!

March 2007 – This information sheet will help explain how to choose the right size owire for your project.

Zutter Innovative Products currently offers five sizes and colors of owire designed specifically for use with the Bind-it-All tool.

Colors: Black, white, silver, red and brown (sometimes listed as gold.)

Sizes: 5/8 inch, ¾ inch, 7/8 inch, 1 inch and 1 ¼ inch. The size the Zutter Zisters typically use in demos and make ‘n takes is ¾ inch owire.

It is recommended that only Zutter owire be used with the Bind-it-All because it has been specially manufactured for the pitch (distance between punches) and density (firmness) settings of the machine. (See “Bulk Wire Purchases – Read This Before You Buy”).

How to choose the right size of wire: Plan on using the wire diameter that is 1/8 to ¼-inch wider than the width of your project when it is fully embellished. In the sample shown above – made of 10 chipboard pages – 1 ¼ inch owire was used for a book of 10 chipboard pages.

A good universal size for most projects is the ¾ or 7/8 inch owire.
